High technology and low technology are common terms that people use quite often. Perhaps you've heard people using these terms, and you wonder what it is exactly, this article is for you. We take a closer look at the differences between the two, so read on.

What is high technology (aka frontier tech)?

High technology is considered as that technology that is new as well as more sophisticated. Usually, high-tech is made up of several complex features and is pretty demanding when it comes to resources as well as the investment required to produce it. This is why high technology products are quite costly.

There are many examples of high technology. Some of them we are working with them every day ---- high-tech gadgets that simply blow our minds. Apple iPhone 13 is an example of a high-tech electronic gadget in 2022. This phone's advanced features are just wow. Artificial intelligence drones are another example of high technology. In different industries, high-tech devices are being used for example, in the medical fraternity where they can monitor the health of patients.

What is low technology?

Low technology can be defined as technology that is old, more traditional, or in some cases outdated. This type of technology is known for having a few features and has a very simple design. Because of this, low technology products are pretty easy to use as compared to high tech. Not much capital is needed to practice or produce low-tech products. This makes it relatively cheap compared to high-tech products.

Which one is better, low technology or high technology?

We can agree that a number of people are obsessed with high technology. They think that because high technology has advanced features, that automatically makes it better than low technology. However, this is not the case.

Each type of technology has its merits as well as drawbacks. Each is useful for its own specific tasks and as well as the industry where it's being applied.

Let's say you want to jot down some thoughts, you might want to jot them down in your physical diary and not a diary on your iPhone. Some people prefer low tech because of its simplicity. On the other hand, some people love high technology for reasons like its ability to perform complex tasks.
